WWII Veterans Bear Witness to History

Fragments of war, embedded in the memories of a lifetime, are trickling away with the passing of an estimated 1,700 veterans a day.
In an effort to capture those historical memories before they are lost, the United States Congress created the Veterans History Project in 2000 to record the firsthand experiences of the nation's veterans from World War I through the present war in Iraq.
